March 2021 News
Now that the government is slowly letting us unlock we have looked at all our workshops and jiggled things around so that we can welcome lots of you here this summer, as well as continuing our very popular online sessions.
We are opening for physical workshops here at the farm from mid-May, because our lovely neighbours at the Kitchen at Kimbers who supply our lunches are going to be serving from then. Workshops which should have been held here before then, have either been postponed, and the new dates are on the website, or been replaced with online options, equally, dates on the website.
The numbers of people we are able to welcome to our classes have also changed, so if you haven’t been able to book a place before, do look again because there may be a few more spaces available. We are still keeping the numbers of students small, however, with a maximum of nine students at a time at physical workshops, and fifteen visitors at a time for garden tours.
We’ve listed workshops, both physical and online, and garden tours now right up till July, so do have a look, book a place and come along.
The physical workshops we hold here will all take place outside where social distancing is easy to maintain. Even though many of us will have been vaccinated by the time we hold these workshops, I am sure the government will expect us to still be careful, and we will follow COVID-19 advice from the government very closely.
Our next workshops listing will be for the Autumn term, starting mid-September.
Much closer on the horizon we have Mothering Sunday. I am already making the boxes and listing addresses for the couriers. We are sold out to the last stem for physical bouquets, but have a cheery demo on Friday 12th at 4.30pm online for people who’d like to make their own bouquet or posy for their mamas with seasonal flowers and greenery and twiggery from the garden. Our online demos are always fun, and teach you skills you can use with your garden flowers all year round – after all, posies aren’t just for Mothering Sunday!
So onwards and upwards! May your seeds germinate, your flower beds soon start to radiate warmth, and your summer of flowers become more and more of a reality.
