Will you join Georgie online or at the farm this spring?

I am writing this on a sunny day in Somerset - finally some sunshine - and it feels timely to look ahead at what Georgie has coming up over the next couple of months, as many of the sessions have a spring related theme to them!

But first, our February online workshops and demos have gone really well and I hope those of you who have joined Georgie feel the same. This feedback really summarises so much of what Georgie’s sessions are about:

"Georgie Newbery is way more than a Flower Farmer; she is a teacher to the core of her being! You will forever utilise the instruction given. I have attended two online workshops so far, Career Change Flower Farming and Pricing Cut Flowers To Sell, both perfectly partnered to purchase as a bundle.

Georgie demonstrates a fully rationalized approach to flower farming, cultivated with humor and grace. You will finish your time with her understanding fully, the practical skills and mindset necessary to continue on your journey with confidence. You will also feel a visceral uplifting energy accompanying the astute insight this wonderful lady shares. Co-creation at its best!

Thank you Georgie, for making learning such fun. I look forward to spending more time with you online in the future."

So what is coming up?

There are opportunities to join Georgie for ‘live’ sessions every Thursday at 5pm (term time) when you become a paid subscriber on Substack - see what’s coming up for the rest of term here.

And we’ve a range of workshops and demos coming up in March and April, all listed below. (You can see the calendar for the rest of the year here).

Tuesday 11th March Mentoring With Georgie

This mentoring spot has already been booked but we’ve more opportunities for mentoring with Georgie in October. Occasionally we can fit in extra sessions during the year, so if you are keen to do this get in touch and we will see what can do.

Tuesday 11th March The Shrubs and Perennials for Cut Flower Arrangements Demo

Join Georgie for this online demo and she’ll take you through the principles you can apply when choosing shrubs and perennials for cutting, as well as give you great ideas and resources, and tips for managing your collection once it’s planted to ensure years of plenty of cut material throughout the season.

Tuesday 25th March The Career Change Flower Farming Workshop

This is our first face to face session of the year at the farm in Somerset. This is the only date we have planned to run this workshop in 2025 and places are limited so do book on if you’re keen to spend a day looking at what it takes to become a person who grows flowers for sale. (And if you are already that person, our Flower Farming Intensive workshop might be of interest?)

Wednesday 26th March The Living Spring Wreath Demo

Spring is the perfect time to make a living wreath which you can have on a door or a table and watch grow over the days and weeks after you’ve created it. Join Georgie for this online demo and find out how to create one yourself.

Tuesday 8th April The Spring Hand Tie Demo

If you grow flowers for cutting in your garden, then this is a great online demo for you to take part in as the season begins. Georgie is a very clear teacher and takes her time to make sure you can replicate every step she takes as she makes one of her own classic bouquets with gorgeous spring flowers.

Tuesday 22nd April The Funeral Sheaf Demo

It is a great compliment to be asked to create flowers for funerals, and since 2009 Georgie has been creating sheafs of flowers for coffins using neither floral foam, nor wire. Instead she uses simple sustainable floristry techniques, and in this online demo she will show you how you too can make such flowers as tributes for loved ones.

Tuesday 29th April The Bridal Party Demo

This is a detailed online session for people planning to create their own bridal party flowers. Georgie will talk you through cutting and creating a handtied bride’s bouquet, a bridesmaid’s posy, and a buttonhole. She’ll give you top tips for stem counts, design balance, conditioning, and timing as well as how to make the most of the flowers on the wedding day itself.

Wednesday 30th April The Prepping Wedding Flowers Demo

If you’re planning to cut and arrange your own wedding flowers from your garden join Georgie for this online demo where she will show you how you can work out your stem count for cutting, discuss your timings for conditioning and floristry, and give you top tips for getting the flowers done in plenty of time before the wedding.

Hopefully there’s something here that you’d like to do? If you’re a paid subscriber, please don’t forget to use your latest discount code to get your 10% off if booking a place on any of the sessions.

If you’ve questions about any of these sessions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
