What's happening in the last two weeks of February?

Georgie is now two thirds of the way through the variety of online workshops and demos we have on the calendar for February. So far this month she’s been joined online by people from the USA, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the UK!

Online workshops and demos

There are 3 more online sessions to come before the end of the month - all start at 5pm (GMT) but we record the sessions and send the recording out shortly after the session has taken place, if you can’t join live:

Tuesday 18th February The Dahlia Growing Demo

Join Georgie for this online demo and find out how to grow dahlias for a great summer and autumn harvest. With top tips and recommendations Georgie will take you through the dahlia year discussing ordering, propagating, growing on, planting out, managing the growing season, and then how to lift and store your dahlia tubers, or just tuck them up in the ground to survive the winter.

Wednesday 19th February The Delivering Workshops Workshop

If you run a small business, holding workshops can be a great way to increase income, as well as share your passion for whatever it is you do. Long experience has taught Georgie that sharing skills in no way affects the sales of whatever it is you grow or make for your core business: if anything teaching workshops increases sales across all areas in which you sell. More details on the website about this workshop if this is something you are interested in learning more about.

Tuesday 25th February The Pricing Cut Flowers To Sell Workshop

Join Georgie for this workshop where she will help you think about what to consider when deciding wholesale prices for your flowers. It's really important to spend time thinking about the value of the flowers you grow, that is, how you can put a price on time spent growing, plus the cost of the ground they grow in, plus the bloom itself, plus cutting and conditioning. What will you charge per stem? Will you deliver? How will you educate your customers to get the very best out of your flowers? All this and more on this very worthwhile session.

Recordings of previous workshops and demos

We make the recordings of our workshops and demos available to buy for a limited time, for anyone who missed out. You can see the full list of sessions that are available to buy until 28th February here.

Live At Five sessions for the Common Farm Flowers Club

For those of you who are paid up members on Substack, we have two more Live At Five Sessions scheduled in February:

Thursday 20th February - Georgie will be taking your questions and chatting about studio set up, creating an efficient field-to-floristry space, time saving layouts and kit for the new season.

Thursday 27th February - the topic is one we return to a couple of times a year with our clubbers - self care. Our particular focus this week will be looking at how we set boundaries and pace ourselves to make sure there’s time off!

Club Live At Five sessions are scheduled now until the end of March (see what else is coming up here) but we welcome suggestions for future sessions please!

If you’re considering subscribing to Substack as a paid up member, and thus joining our club, you can read more about the perks you get for your membership here.

So a busy couple of weeks online for Georgie and no doubt out on the farm too - I am sure she will be updating you as the week goes on!

Any questions about any of our sessions, how the club works or anything else - please just ask. Meanwhile, wishing you all a lovely week ahead.
