British flowers week 2017
British flowers week 2017 is celebrated from 19th-25th June. It's an opportunity for all we exclusively British flowers using flower growers and floral designers to showcase what we do. And it's a great compliment that we've been listed by the organisers as British flowers specialists to watch. They recommend you follow our Intsgram feed, where we post examples daily of seasonal English country flowers, supplied by us from our little flower farm near Bruton in Somerset.
It's our mission to show that there are beautiful English country flowers available to order in the UK year round.
From April to November, most of the flowers used in our bouquets by post, flower delivery bouquets, wedding flowers, workshops and flower courses, are grown here on our little flower farm. When we buy in supplementary stock, we only buy British-grown flowers. During the deep winter months our Cornish colleagues keep us supplied with wonderful quality grown-not-flown fresh, seasonal flowers.
We use exclusively British flowers, grown not flown, if you like, because we think that beautiful, seasonal flowers don't need to cost the earth, which, flowers flown in from South America and elsewhere do. And to that end we'll support British flowers week and everyone running businesses like ours, from small, artisan flower farms to the bigger producers in Lincolnshire and elsewhere. The British flowers is a world where Constance Spry is our inspiration and mentor, where floristry rules don't exist, where fewer chemicals and many more varieties of flowers are available to play with, and where really beautiful, real, live, flowers, like these ones sent from Common Farm to be delivered by courier tomorrow, are absolutely the norm.
