New term - online workshops

As well as online demos, we’ve some really useful workshops coming up from September, online and at the farm.

Read on for a brief overview. As usual, full details are on the website but do ask if you’ve any questions about any of these sessions.

Online Workshops

Our online workshops start at 5pm and last around 2 hours, with the exception of The Career Change Flower Farming Workshop, which is an all day workshop.

All our sessions are recorded and the recordings are sent out, along with notes, shortly after the workshop has taken place. This works well if you can’t join live (or if you get interrupted during the workshop for any reason).

Tuesday 16th September The Pricing Cut Flowers To Sell Workshop

Join Georgie as she helps you think about what to consider when deciding wholesale prices for your flowers. It's really important to give time thinking about where the value is, and how you can put a price on time plus ground plus bloom plus conditioning. What will you charge per stem? Will you deliver? How will you educate your customers to get the very best out of your flowers?

Wednesday 1st October The Flower Farmer’s Year Workshop

Bring your calendar to this online workshop and let Georgie share with you the dates you need to put in your diary for a successful season growing flowers year on year.

It is highly informative, distilled knowledge of years was presented well structured & highly focused but still highly entertaining with a lot of useful practical information on that specific topic. Georgie also manages to engage all the participants & pays tribute to all the demands & individual gardening situations, from small gardener to business, by answering them willingly & unpretentiously at the end of the seminar. Wednesday 15th October The Design A Cut Flower Patch Workshop

Join Georgie as she talks you through the points to consider when creating a cut flower patch. An area to grow flowers especially for cutting is a beautiful as well as useful addition to any garden, and Georgie gives you the how tos and whys in such a way that you could apply the principles to any size patch.

“I was interested in this workshop because I wanted to grow flowers for pleasure. Georgie diagrammed how to set up a flower garden, what to grow and provided numerous personal tips. She is so personable and relatable. I plan to implement Georgie's recommendations on a smaller scale. I really appreciate receiving a recording of the workshop and notes.”

Tuesday 4th November The Career Change Flower Farming Workshop

Creating a flower farm and making a living from it is a dream held dear by many. Come on this day (held online) and Georgie will help turn that dream into a reality.

Workshops at the farm in Somerset

The Flower Farming Intensive Workshop is a 1, 2 or 3 day workshop depending on which area of flower farming you need to focus on. The aim of this workshop is to help you grow your flower farming business.

“Brilliant 3 days at the farm visiting and revisiting the nuts and bolts of running a real flower farming and artisan floristry business. Good pace, enormous amounts of practical information shared and the right amount of ‘doing’ to bring home key points on organisation and budgeting of both time & resources. Plenty of individual inspiration and support. Excellent number of students in group and what a lovely bunch! Delicious no faff lunches from a local farm shop.”
